Samsung_galaxy_noteAndroid dominates the world of mobile platform and huge Android market share is controlled by the South Korean company Samsung, reports Dazeinfo. Samsung sold 64.5 million units of smartphone in just Q4 2012 and Apple’s smartphone poked 43.5 million units figure in Q4 2012. Chinese mobile maker–Huawei–succeeded to grab the third position in the worldwide smartphone ranking for the first time in Q4 2012. However, during the entire year (2012), Huawei sold just 27.2 million smartphones to end users, but it showed off 73.8% Y/Y growth compared to a year ago.

Till the end of 2012, only two platforms–Android and iOS–were dominating in smartphone segment. But in 2013, there’s a scope for the third platform to rise. During Q4 2012, Apple and Samsung together accounted for 52% of overall smartphone sales, up from 46.4% in the previous quarter. Nokia sold 39.3 million smartphones worldwide, down 53.6% from the previous year.
