India is becomming a global hub of innovation just like as became a global hub for back office services and software development. Multinational companies had already set up 750 R&D centres in India, which employ more than 400.000 profesionals, who are working on global products. Nimaly Kumar and Phanish Puranam divide innovation into visible and invisible innovation and claims that India is global hub for invisible innovation. While visible innovation consists from products and services for end users, invisible innovation comming out from India could be divided into 4 groups:

1. Innovation for business customers (Made in India, branded elswhere)
2. Outsourcing innovation
3. Process innovation
4. Management innovation

IBM, one of the most innovative company of all times employed 310.000 employees in 2003 (135.000 in USA and 9.000 in India, today IBM employs about 98.000 staff in USA and 115.000 in India).
